Thanks for pointing this out – I’d just got back from seeing ‘Evita’ and had to rush out again to try and buy a ‘hard’ copy. It sets the scene quite well.
I think it’s really important to note two things about this news report – in no particular order;
Firstly, thanks must go to the GTCS and Ian Mathieson, thir research officer in particular for running the teacher researcher scheme which enables increasing numbers of classroom teachers to undertake research projects of this nature by funding visits and supply cover, so important to the cognitive and reflective processes necessary for good research
And secondly, this study could not have happened without the help of so many others. In particular, the South Lanarkshire GLOW team of Jim, Margaret, Sandra and Stephanie and now Caroline, as well as my colleagues in school especially Jerry. All of these folk have provided invaluable practical and moral support, leadership, and good advice over the past year or so without which my own classroom practice with GLOW could not have developed in the way that it has.
And then of course, there are the fantastic groups of young people that it’s such a privilege to work with every day…
..It appears I’m in again this week as well !
